Welcome

A mountain retreat with character

Gorphwysfa is a detached stone cottage built in 1820 and thoughtfully modernised while retaining all of its original charm. Nestled in Capel Curig, a small mountain village surrounded by some of Wales' most dramatic scenery, it's a paradise for walkers, climbers and outdoor lovers.

Just minutes from Betws-y-Coed, it's the ideal base for climbing Yr Wyddfa (Snowdon), visiting Zip World, or unwinding after adventures at Plas y Brenin, the National Outdoor Centre. After a day out, return to cosy comfort — relax in front of the log burner, wrapped in wool blankets, with a Nespresso in hand.

Whether you're here for the peaks, the trails, the lakes, or simply the peace — you'll feel right at home.

Fresh mountain air, star-filled skies, and some of Wales' most dramatic scenery right on the doorstep.
